Steven Soderbergh’s latest muse is a veteran of the adult entertainment industry, having starred in around 185 pornographic films since her career began at the age of 18.
The Girlfriend Experience, her first major mainstream movie, tells the story of Christine, a high-priced escort who specialises in providing a ‘girlfriend experience’ for her clients – simulating the emotional and physical intimacy of a ‘normal’ relationship.
